south korea desk

Emirates Legal is the first law firm in the U.A.E to have a “South Korea Desk.”  Our objective is to provide a one-stop solution to Korean businesses that are exploring business opportunities in the UAE.  This includes assisting them in all legal matters including incorporating businesses in the Emirates, as well as in the free zones, seeking regulatory approvals and required consents on their behalf from various government bodies, drafting commercial contracts, joint venture agreements and providing strategic legal advice in relation to investments in the UAE. While we will continue to focus on Dubai and Abu Dhabi, we are in a unique position to advise clients on doing business in Fujeirah and Ras al Khaimah and on all aspects of UAE corporate and commercial law.  Additionally, our attorneys are highly qualified experts in the field of construction and real estate. We are amongst very few firms that are advising foreign contractors in various construction disputes in the UAE.

Our South Korea Desk was established prior to the 40 billion dollar nuclear deal recently concluded between Abu Dhabi and Seoul.  The foreign ministers of the UAE and South Korea signed several agreements agreeing to jointly explore partnerships in infrastructure development, banking, financial services and other sectors. There is an increasing number of businesses that are looking at exploring opportunities in the UAE. Our goal is to provide one-stop solution to these businesses and assist them in all legal matters.

Our sister concern, MESA Management Consultancy, is working closely with the Korea Desk in providing management advice and other consultancy related services to the Korean companies.  Our contacts with high net-worth individuals in the UAE and throughout the region enables us to assist Korean companies with creative business plans in forging ties with business partners throughout the Middle East. Our management consultants and our lawyers are working closely together in ensuring that the Korean businesses understand the needs and requirements of the Middle Eastern market and are well represented in their joint venture agreements with local partners.

We are engaged in the process of forging ties with leading law firms in Seoul.  Their details will soon be available in our News section.
